TVS Neo AMI — Africa Product Launch Film
Client: TVS Motor Company
★ 14-foot LED wall shoot | Originated for Africa's Gen Z | Direct-to-client | Tech-forward
2023-12
Overview
Avakkai Studio produced a product launch film for TVS Neo AMI, a new-age tech-loaded scooter built for Africa's Gen Z riders. Shot in a Bangalore studio against a 14-foot LED wall, the mixed-media film combined quick-cut visual storytelling with in-camera art-directed environments. Developed direct-to-client, the brand identity, tagline, and tech-forward visual language were originated for the African market — not adapted from elsewhere. The result: a scooter introduced as a piece of tech that happens to ride, speaking Gen Z Africa's visual language.
Brief
TVS Motor Company, through a direct client engagement, needed a launch film for the Neo AMI scooter in the African market. The objective was to position the Neo AMI as a new-age, tech-loaded scooter for Africa’s Gen Z riders — less a vehicle ad, more an introduction to a piece of tech that happens to ride. The challenge: create a brand look, feel, and tagline built specifically for Africa’s Gen Z, not adapted from elsewhere.
Our Concept & Approach
Avakkai Studio developed the brand identity and the film as one integrated thought from day one. The tagline, visual language, and tech-forward positioning were created together, ensuring that what comes through is a scooter built for Africa’s Gen Z, styled and shot with the same energy its audience consumes content.
The Core Idea: Mixed media matched to the product — quick cuts, feature call-outs, and a visual language with the same energy Gen Z actually consumes content in.
Production & Technical Approach:
- 14-Foot LED Wall: A large LED wall in a Bangalore studio allowed the entire environment to be under direct control, with every backdrop, light, and reflection art-directed in-camera
- No Location Moves: The entire shoot was completed in-studio, eliminating the unpredictability of on-location filming while delivering visually rich, varied backdrops
- Mixed Media: The film combined cinematic cinematography with feature-driven storytelling, highlighting the scooter’s tech and design attributes
- Direct-to-Client Collaboration: The identity and the film were developed together, ensuring seamless alignment between brand strategy and creative execution

-
Originated, Not Adapted: The brand look, feel, and tagline were built specifically for Africa’s Gen Z, ensuring authentic connection with the target audience rather than repurposed global assets
-
Direct-to-Client Efficiency: Working directly with the client meant the identity and the film weren’t separate jobs — the tagline, look, and tech-forward visual treatment were developed as one thought from day one
-
In-Camera Art Direction: The 14-foot LED wall provided complete control over environments, allowing for art-directed backdrops, lighting, and reflections without leaving Bangalore — delivering variety and quality without location logistics
-
Gen Z Visual Language: The quick-cut, feature-forward storytelling spoke the language of its audience, positioning the Neo AMI as a tech product that happens to ride
-
Intent-Driven Execution: The film carried the weight of a product designed for tech-savvy urban riders, establishing the Neo AMI as a serious contender in Africa’s Gen Z scooter market
